What Is OEKO-TEX® Certification?
OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system that tests textiles for harmful substances. Established in 1992, Standard 100 is among the world's most recognised labels for tested textiles.
It covers every component of a product, from the fabric to the thread and trims. That means your fitted sheets, duvet covers and towels are tested against limits for a long list of substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticide residues and allergenic dyes.
Why Certification Matters for Your Health
Your skin is your largest organ, and you spend roughly a third of your life in direct contact with bedding. Untested textiles can carry chemical residues from manufacturing that cause irritation or allergic reactions.
1. Kinder to Sensitive Skin

How to Choose Certified Bedding
Weave Quality Over Thread Count Alone
Certification covers safety; weave and yarn quality determine how bedding feels and how long it lasts. A well-spun percale in a moderate thread count breathes better than a dense high-count sheet, which is exactly what you want in Belgium's damp climate. Fabric Weight (GSM) for Towels
GSM measures density. For towels, higher GSM means more absorbency and a plusher feel:
- 500 GSM: everyday towels that dry quickly, like our 500 GSM cotton towels
- 600 GSM: thicker, hotel-style density, as in our 600 GSM bath towels

Seasonal Considerations
Summer: lightweight, breathable cotton such as our T144 fitted sheets.
Winter: flannel cotton fitted sheets or jersey cotton fitted sheets for extra warmth.
Colour and Dye Quality

Washing: mild, eco-friendly detergent at 40-60°C. Skip bleach and harsh chemicals.
Drying: line drying is best for fabric integrity. In a dryer, use low to medium heat.
Storage: cool, dry and out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
